Center for Responsive Schools, Inc. (CRS) has organized this challenge to promote social and emotional learning and will be awarding various prizes to submitting adult (hereinafter “Educator”) and participating students. The challenge is regulated by Challenge Rules (hereinafter “Rules”). Participation in any of this challenge constitutes the Educator’s agreement and acceptance of these Rules. All federal, state, local, and municipal laws and regulations apply.
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR CONTRIBUTION TO CENTER FOR RESPONSIVE SCHOOLS, INC. WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

Commotion About Emotions Challenge
Eligible grades: K-8

Winning at Social Skills Challenge
Eligible grades: 3-8
Entry: Individual student, group of 2 students, or group of 4 students
The Commotion About Emotions project and the Winning at Social Skills project (hereinafter the “Project” are explained on the Challenge website: https://www.flyfivesel.org/creative-lab-challenge/. Incomplete entries will be considered ineligible. An entry must be received between 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on April 12, 2021, and 11:59 p.m. ET on May 9, 2021 (the “Entry Period”).
ELIGIBILITY: The Challenge is open only to an Educator on behalf of an individual student or a group of two or four students currently enrolled in grades K–8 at public, private, independent, or faith-based schools as well as those with after-school, community-based, or homeschool-based programs in the 50 United States (or its territories) that are in compliance with the laws and regulations of its state/district, or an Educator with one, two, or four students in an out-of-school-time program in the 50 United States (or its territories) and who is a resident of the 50 United States (or its territories). This includes, for example, classroom teachers, coaches, guidance counselors, school administrators, teachers of art, music, technology, and other elective or exploratory subjects, and other educators who support or provide instruction to students in various capacities.
The students’ entries may only be submitted by the students’ teacher, youth program leader (defined as a counselor, teacher, or other leader in an out-of-school-time program such as the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, camp, FFA, 4-H, or Boys and Girls Clubs), or their parents or legal guardians. The individuals submitting the entries must be over 18 (19 in Alabama or Nebraska) at the time of submission and residents of the 50 United States (or its territories). Full-time employees of CRS and members of their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, spouse) or family members living in the same household (whether related or not), their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their advertising, promotion, and production agencies, manufacturers or distributors of sweepstakes materials (collectively, “Sponsor and Promotion Parties”) are not eligible to enter. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Any person who attempts to defraud or tamper with the Challenge will be ineligible for prizes.
Challenge Period - Start and End Dates
Entries will be accepted online between 12:01 a.m. ET on April 12, 2021, and 11:59 p.m. ET on May 9, 2021. Entries that are submitted before or after the Challenge Period will not be considered and will not be eligible for prizes.
Entry Rules
The Challenge must be entered by visiting https://www.flyfivesel.org/creative-lab-challenge/ and filling out a registration form. Upon registration, a project code will be given. Affix the project code to your project and include it in the subject line when submitting an entry. The following documents must be attached to the email: any links to YouTube videos, audio files, documents, and photos; 3-4 progress photos to demonstrate that the work is student-created; and the Commotion About Emotions Artwork Label or Winning at Social Skills Presentation Planner. Incomplete entries or entries that are not in alignment with the rules, requirements, and specifications will be disqualified by CRS. Any attempt to circumvent the rules will result in immediate disqualification from the Challenge.
Terms
Each Educator acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the Rules described for this challenge. Additionally, if your student(s) are under the age of consent where you live, then as the submitting Educator you must get the consent of your student(s)’ parents prior to submitting students’ work. And, if you do participate and enter a student(s)’ project in this Challenge, you acknowledge to CRS that you have done so.
When entering a project for this contest you are agreeing that CRS will be accessing, viewing, downloading, or otherwise using content, media, or any other products or services you submit for judging purposes only.
No contest entries will be made public. Only winning contest entries will be considered for public display and only when consent is given by a parent or legal guardian.
These terms, and future modifications of these terms, govern your entry into the Challenge and constitute a legal agreement between you and CRS.
If you do not agree to these terms and rules of this Challenge, please do not proceed any further with the Challenge.
Absent a separate agreement with us, the Center for Responsive Schools, Inc. (CRS) does not claim any ownership rights to the content created by Challenge participants and shared through the SEL Creative Lab Challenge. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry to the SEL Creative Lab Challenge that does not adhere to the terms of the Challenge or Projects that contain illegal or otherwise objectionable images. The Project that you submit to the SEL Creative Lab Challenge needs to comply with these Terms.
You hereby agree that we may remove the Project in our sole and absolute discretion. You hereby agree that if your Project is removed from the SEL Creative Lab Challenge owing to a violation of these Terms CRS shall have the right to use and reproduce the Project in response to any subpoena or other judicial or administrative order; to assist government enforcement agencies or as otherwise required by law; and to protect the rights, property, or safety of CRS, any individual, or the general public. If the project is removed, lost, altered, damaged, misused, or otherwise irretrievable, you agree to, and hereby do, waive CRS from any and all liability.
You are responsible for making sure that you have all rights to the Project, including the rights necessary for you to grant the foregoing licenses to the Project. You are solely responsible for the Project. CRS does not guarantee any confidentiality or privacy with respect to any of the Project.

We encourage you to submit the Project to us on a nonconfidential basis. By submitting a Project, you automatically grant, or warrant that the owner of such material expressly grants, CRS the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, nonexclusive right and license to use and display the Project (in whole or in part) through the CRS Fly Five SEL Creative Lab Challenge webpage. CRS does not claim any ownership rights to the Projects.
Disclaimer of Responsibility
Center for Responsive Schools, Inc. is not responsible for problems with Challenge entries, including but not limited to entries that are lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible, or that cannot be completed due to electronic or technical difficulties, even if the problem is the result of the sole or partial negligence of Center for Responsive Schools, Inc.
Prizes
There will be up to nine winners per grade level (K-8) of the Challenge determined by Center for Responsive Schools, Inc.
The award categories will be three winners per grade:
Educators who submit a winning challenge will be awarded $150.
If a group wins a Winning at Social Skills Challenge, the prizes will be shared as follows:

All prizes will be awarded in VISA gift cards (pre-paid cash).
The prize cannot be redeemed for cash or substituted for another prize and is non-transferable. Prize-related expenses including all federal, state, and local taxes represent the sole financial responsibility of the Winner. The prize is given with no written, express, or implied warranty. Entry into the Challenge gives Center for Responsive Schools, Inc. permission to use the Winner’s image(s) or production of their Project for advertising purposes without further compensation, unless it is prohibited by law.
Winner Selection and Notification
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges under the supervision of Center for Responsive Schools, Inc. The panel will include CRS staff and volunteer educators.
All Challenge winners and runners-up will be announced at the SEL Creative Lab Challenge Webinar on Thursday, May 20, 2021.
Teacher and student prizes will be mailed to the teacher on Monday, May 24, 2021. Acceptance of the prize given in this Challenge is in accordance with any and all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. If the Winner is disqualified for any reason, Center for Responsive Schools, Inc. is not obliged to provide an alternate prize or extend the Challenge Period in any way, and all privileges as Winner will be terminated immediately. An Educator who provides false, fraudulent, or deceptive entries or who engages in false, fraudulent, or deceptive acts in connection with the Challenge will be disqualified and subject to criminal prosecution. Center for Responsive Schools, Inc. reserves the right to not award prizes, if, in its sole discretion, there are not a sufficient number of qualified and eligible entries.
How to Claim the Prize
Prizes will be mailed to the Educator. Educators are required to provide (1) a valid government-issued photo identification depicting proof of age and (2) a valid taxpayer identification number or Social Security number. The Social Security number will be used for tax-reporting purposes. Center for Responsive Schools, Inc. reserves the right to deny awarding the prize if the Winner fails to provide satisfactory identification.
Terms and General Conditions
Center for Responsive Schools reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Challenge should virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or any other cause affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Challenge. If such a case occurs, Center for Responsive Schools may select the Winner from all eligible entries. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage the Winner selection process and the legitimate operation of the Challenge may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. This Challenge shall be void where it is prohibited by law.
Limitation of Liability
By entering the Challenge, Educator agrees to release and hold harmless Center for Responsive Schools and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from:
Disputes and Arbitration
THIS CHALLENGE IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA AND MASSACHUSETTS, WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES. As a condition of participating in this Challenge, the Educator agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Challenge, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Massachusetts having jurisdiction.
