While we all have a basic ability to be present and manage our emotions, controlling our emotions and how they impact us is a skill that requires practice. This article examines mindfulness and how practicing it allows us to remain in the moment and manage even the most overwhelming of emotions. Outlined are Fly Five’s seven key mindfulness principles and strategies to help us remain present, focused, and in control of ourselves. The more we practice mindfulness, the more empowered we become to pass these invaluable skills onto our students.
